Area Guide to Ealing

Ealing, also known as the “Queen of Suburbs” is situated in West London and is a quiet residential area. Located near Acton and Chiswick but a lot more urban than its neighbours, partly due to Ealing Broadway and its shopping centre.  Its green spaces and charms have attracted many families in the past years as it is conveniently located close to schools and has many large size houses. The Borough of Ealing is split between Ealing Common, Ealing Broadway, South Ealing and West Ealing – plenty to choose from!

Links to the city

Ealing Broadway, West Ealing and Ealing Common are all in zone 3 and are situated on the Piccadilly and on the District line. From there you can reach central London in less than 30 minutes. South Ealing is in zone 4 on the Piccadilly Line and is the closest to Heathrow airport which is only 20 minutes away.

Renting in Ealing

Ealing is a desired area due to all its shops, restaurants, multiple transport links. There were many new developments built in the recent year including the popular Dickens Yard. Therefore the prices have also gone up, especially in Ealing Broadway and Ealing Common. The rent for an average 2 bedrooms flat will cost around £2,000 pcm. West Ealing on the other hand, being a bit further out is a little bit cheaper averaging at £1,600 pcm for a two beds.

Living in Ealing

I guess that by now you can already have a feel of how living in Ealing would be… Quiet, a lot of green spaces, safe, many families but also modern and offering access to local amenities, shops and restaurants. For fresh air and beautiful views head over to Gunnersbury Park or Walpole Park and if you want to do a bit of shopping, Ealing Broadway is perfect for you!

Park Tavern is a British Gastro Pub. With large windows, a fireplace, leather seats, this cosy decor is definitely very inviting and friendly. You can enjoy the best of British cuisine and also have some drinks in their beer garden – the perfect summer spot!

Charlotte’s W5 – to eat

Charlotte’s W5 is definitely on top of the list for restaurants in Ealing. Not only is the food the delicious but the atmosphere is also lovely and the staff very knowledgeable. The place is stylish and the dishes are full of wonderful flavours! Make sure you book in advance as it does tend to get busy.

Harrison’s Deli – to shop

Harrison’s Deli is definitely a must visit for any Ealing local! Fresh food, sensational cheese and meat, stunning wine and very helpful staff. Perfect to pick up some food for a dinner party, you will surely impress your guests! Finish your visit with a glass of wine on their outside terrace because wine not!

WA Cafe – to indulge

WA Cafe is cake heaven! This French/ Japanese fusion patisserie is everything you need and more. Not only they have the cutest cakes but they are also mouth-watering. You should go even if you don’t live in Ealing because it’s unique and definitely worth trying!
