Our View:

England started the World Cup as firm favourites though after losing 3 matches to Pakistan, Sri Lanka and their semi-final opponent Australia their odds have slipped a bit. England will be hoping to reach their 4th World Cup final and hopefully would win their 1st title. Australia stand in England’s way and this will be a mammoth sized task as Australia have won a record 5 world cups. Australia may have had a difficult recent history where many people thought that they had lost their way, including myself. Recent history has shown that they have bounced back from recent problems and in 2019 no team has won more One Day International matches than the Aussies (22 wins).

I think that the toss will be crucial and neither team will want to lose this as I imagine whoever wins the toss will look to bat first and target a score in excess of 300.

I am confident that England will have what it takes to win in front of a home crowd and will be fully fired up for this game. England will have to bat and bowl at the top of their game to win this match and Australia will no doubt win if England are not at their absolute best.

Form Guide: Most recent score first (Only completed matches)

England: WWLLW
Australia: LWWWW
