Meet The Team: Andy

It’s all well and good knowing a brand as a brand, but do you know who you’re even talking to behind the screen? Well, here at ideal flatmate, we’ve got a pretty cool bunch of folk, if we do say so ourselves. So much so, that we think they need a little bit of raving about – you know, a whole blog post dedicated to them.

We slipped into their emails (we know DMs sound much better, but we’re not great fibbers) and asked some questions for you to know a little more about them.

Just don’t pick a favourite OK?

World meet Andy. Andy is not only our Graphic and UX designer, and makes everything on ideal flatmate look amazing (literally), but he’s also a qualified tennis coach – you learn something new everyday huh? You’ll most likely find Andy designing a page, creating an infographic, or checking out some new prints to buy for the office. And when he’s not with us, there’s a strong chance he’ll have a pale ale in hand and watching Soccer Saturday!

Introduce yourself in a sentence

Graphic designer, UX designer, Qualified Tennis Coach & Exeter City fanatic

Tell us about your background?

From Devon originally, moving up to London to head to Kingston University to study Graphic Design BA. Since graduating I’ve worked with many big advertising and design agencies; working on campaigns for the likes of Adidas, Puma & Belvedere.

Which is your favourite area in London?

Brixton! Recently moved to the area and love the mix of vibrant cultures, restaurants and bars.

Where do you enjoy eating and drinking in the city?

Anywhere away from the centre! Can usually be found in The Landor near Clapham North with a pale ale and Soccer Saturday – Yes Jeff!

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I am moving to Australia (for a year) in January to escape the U.K. winter and bask in the Aussie lifestyle.

Quick fire round:

Early riser or night owl? 100% a night owl. Don’t except many words out of me pre-9am
House party or dinner date? Dinner date
Coffee in or coffee out? Coffee out – people watching in coffee shops is very underrated
Cooking or takeaway? Takeaway on a Friday – Rosa’s Thai my personal fav.
Music or TV? TV all the way – would it be a Sunday without a Netflix binge?
Laundry or dishes? Both seem to be my designated jobs in our household!
