Which Netflix Shows You Need To Be Watching This Winter

As we changed our clocks back with sadness (although, we were pretty grateful for that extra hour in bed on Sunday morning), we said goodbye to British Summer Time and the fun we’ve had. It’s officially well and truly ended, and the colder weather has well and truly arrived.

It’s only right to basically hibernate until at least April, with only being sociable around Christmas time. So crank up your heating, pop on your comfiest pants and don’t deny that urge to stay in and watch TV – because Netflix have pulled out all of the stops.

Just in time.

Making a Murderer

It’s what we’ve all been talking about, and patiently waiting for – and season two is back on our screens. After spending over half of his life behind bars, there’s new evidence for Steven Avery that was previously overlooked, which comes to light, and basically we’re ready for Making a Murderer to take over our lives once more.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

A reboot of our much loved 90s sitcom that we couldn’t get enough of. Played by Kiernan Shipka (you may recognise her as Sally Draper…), expect a much darker storyline, with magic and mischief as half-witch, half-human navigates between two worlds: mortal teen life and her family’s legacy, the Church of Night.

Maniac

You may have seen it advertised, and it’s certainly much anticipated. With Emma Stone and Jonah Hill featuring in the 10 episodes, Maniac is a remake of a Norwegian show which follows them venturing into different fantasy worlds. You’ll also see Justin Theroux performing brilliantly as the inventor. Just make sure to watch it with all of your attention.

You

Gossip Girl meets Gone Girl, You is literally every woman’s nightmare when a guy uses social media to stalk a woman he becomes obsessed with. It’s a pretty creepy plot and will have you feeling a little on edge IRL, but there’s Penn Badgley to enjoy, so all is not lost…

The Haunting Of Hill House

If you’re the jumpy kind, we’d probably advise against this modern reimagining of Shirley Jackson’s novel. The series follows siblings who grew up in what would become the most famous haunted house in the country, and as adults must go back and confront the ghosts of their past. Prepare for plenty of fright and terrifying events, and a whole lack of sleep…

Jack Whitehall: Travels With My Father

There’s no denying that we’re a little bit in love with both Jack and his father, Michael. And watching them travel the world togethers makes for great TV, especially as we enjoyed their trip to Asia in season 1 – so we know that we’re set for a fun second series as they head to Europe. Can we have more Michael Whitehall on our screens please?

House of Cards

What was once Netflix’s front runner show, is scheduled for its sixth and final season this year. With Kevin Spacey fired after those harassment and assault allegations, Robin Wright’s character, Clare Underwood is taking the lead and whilst House of Cards may not be the same without Frank Underwood, we reckon Clare will have nailed the final season.

Daredevil

The end of season two sure left us in the lurch, but the third season of Daredevil is finally back this month. Broken Matt Murdock rises from the wreckage of his life, prepared to do whatever it takes to protect Hell’s Kitchen and there’s also some new characters introduced to the season which is intriguing. You’re in for a real treat.

Yes Netflix, we’re still watching this programme…
