When it comes to having a good ol\u2019 nosy in other people\u2019s lives, we\u2019re all pretty guilty of it. There\u2019s just something so intriguing about being in the know, without technically knowing: whether it\u2019s finding out some goss\u2019, catching sight of your friends WhatsApp chats or peeking into someone\u2019s home. And well, here at\u00a0Ideal Flatmate<\/a>, we love nothing more than seeing how people really live behind closed doors. So each month, we\u2019re inviting ourselves over to people\u2019s houses, for a proper natter about all things house and home (and definitely having a little rummage in their food cupboards).<\/p>\n

Second in our series, we’ve got interior and lifestyle blogger Allie<\/a>, inviting us into her beautiful home to talk all things cosy decor and giving us the low down on where she loves to shop.<\/p>\n

How would you describe your interior style?<\/h2>\n

I always find this question weirdly difficult. I guess overall I find my interior style homely, but I guess that is a subjective term. One thing for sure is I\u2019m definitely not a minimalist, I like collecting pieces from travels and independent shops to adorn my home with! Also, plants play a huge part of my interior style!<\/p>\n

What’s your favourite room in your house?<\/h2>\n

The lounge, at the moment. I\u2019m always changing my mind but, at the moment as autumn draws in the lounge is my favourite place to be. I have approximately four blankets on my main sofa for ultimate comfort.<\/p>\n

What’s on your bedside?<\/h2>\n

The book I\u2019m reading currently, a candle, some sleep spray, a jewellery dish and a clock.<\/p>\n

Tell us about your biggest interior faux pas?<\/h2>\n

When I first moved out I was a little overwhelmed at the idea of styling the entire home and ended up buying a lot of generic pieces from one shop. I\u2019ve learnt now that building up a style slowly is a much more \u2018me\u2019 way of doing it.<\/p>\n

Where is your favourite place to interior shop?<\/h2>\n

Ohh this is a hard one. Can I chose a few? I absolutely obviously love Homesense<\/a> for a good bargain, Amara<\/a> for luxury items, West Elm<\/a> for a treat and Urban Outfitters<\/a> furniture is just glorious.<\/p>\n

How does your dream home look?<\/h2>\n

I would love to live in a London Victorian townhouse, with beautiful tiles in the hallway. More prints, more plants and definitely a roll top bath!<\/p>\n

It takes a lot, but we eventually leave Allie’s home wanting to re-do our lounge complete with West Elm furniture. And a touch of snug, because her home is cosy for sure.
