Your Guide to Hounslow

Just 200m from the Piccadilly Line taking you into central London within 45 minutes, and just a stone’s throw from Heathrow Airport (15 mins), Charter Place is a premium collection of managed properties that offer comfort, convenience and style. Charter Place has everything you need and more, including a 24/7 service team, private gardens, onsite gym, and access to a private dining room should you need to roll out the tablecloth and entertain a large posse.

The apartments at Charter Place boast a progressive style of architecture: curved glass windows, tiered terraces and a brick-style facade. Each space – whether that’s a studio, a room, or the whole flat – is snuggly, yet spacious, with pure wool carpets and built-in wardrobes in most properties. Designer furniture packages are included, with state-of-the-art kitchens.

Once you’re settled in though, what’s there to do in the surrounding area of Hounslow and beyond?

Public Transport

Hounslow is well-regarded for its transport connections with three tube stations (East, West and Central) all along the Piccadilly Line. The local rail station is operated by South Western, taking you into the centre of London or whisking you away to Virginia Waters for a long, weekend walk around the lakes, or Bath and Bristol for a getaway. The District Line and Overground run through nearby Chiswick and you can be in the terminal at Heathrow in less than half an hour.

Coffee

For that all-important flat white, Ground cafe at the Treaty Shopping Centre is your closest port of call and, further afield in Chiswick, you’ll find the famous Ozwald Copplepot Villainously Good Coffee which comes with rave reviews not only for its coffee but for its brunches and wacky interior design (there are penguins everywhere).

Food

While it’s more likely that you’ll dine in the countless places to eat in the centre of the city, there are also some good, local choices including the incredibly reasonable Thakers, which is a longstanding Indian Vegetarian restaurant that offers high quality, traditional dishes that fuse the owner’s Ugandan-Indian heritage with a London twist.

Il Bebo’s Italian is fab for your straight-up, authentic Italian fare, with the addition of a great cocktail menu and a lunch menu that includes a glass of wine for less than a tenner.

Parks

Stretching your legs was never prettier with a number of park and gardens in the local area, including Lampton Park, Hounslow Heath, Cranford, Osterley and, of course, the gorgeous Kew gardens not too far away. There’s an Urban Farm at Feltham packed with activities and a rustic farm shop at Osterley with local produce. Best foot forward, then.

Entertainment

Twickenham Stadium is just down the road if sport’s is your bag and there are a number of local pubs with live music, including the Cross Lances (complete with retro pool table). There’s a large Cineworld in nearby Feltham, as well as a couple of good bowling alleys such as Tenpin and Airport Bowling. If nightclubs are your scene, Club K holds regular weeklies and events.

Check out Charter Place apartments – and don’t forget we can help find your perfect flatmate to share it with.
