How much does ideal flatmate cost? [Pricing Guide]

Flat-Hunters

For flat-hunters, we keep the site free as much as possible. You can take our matching questions which helps you buddy up with the most compatible flatmates, you can message all potential property owners and converse directly with agents via our message board. There is a very small fee for a ‘Premium Flathunter’ option of just £3.99 per week if you want to reveal the phone numbers of all property owners on the site and jump ahead of the queue by being able to contact them directly.

Landlords & Flatmates with a room

At Ideal Flatmate, two core principles drive our decisions on how to charge users; We only charge once we have shown our users value in using the site and we want to keep costs to a minimum for flat-hunters who are already feeling the pressure of living in the midst of a housing crisis!

For people uploading a property to Ideal Flatmate then, there is no obligation to pay when you initially sign up and advertise your property. It is free to list on the site and your room will be advertised along with all the other listings. People who are interested will also be able to send you a message and enquire about your property. You will see these messages come into your Ideal Flatmate inbox and you will receive an email notification each time you have been messaged.

It is at this point, once you have received an enquiry and want to respond to the interested searcher, that we ask you to upgrade to one of our membership packages in order to respond. Again, there is no obligation to do so and if the user feels the enquiry is not likely to lead to anything further, the person listing can wait before upgrading. You can see the full breakdown of our pricing here.

There are benefits to upgrading before you receive a message, however. If you take out one of our ‘Essentials’ or ‘Premium’ packages as soon as you put your property on the site then you will be able to send outbound messages to potential new tenants or flatmates in a bid to finding somebody quicker. Taking out our ‘Premium’ package also means that your listing will be at the top of search results for your area, will be featured on Ideal Flatmate’s homepage, be promoted across social media channels and also included in our ‘Top Property’ email to flat-hunters. This gives it a far greater chance of being snapped up and increases your likelihood of receiving multiple enquiries!

Professional Users

For those with multiple listings, we have a ‘Professional’ payment tier which allows users to list as many properties as they like whilst having a certain number of them boosted as ‘Premium’ listings. We have a tiered structure so that the more rooms added to the site, the bigger discount you receive in terms of the fees paid. There is also the option to pay for a yearly subscription which gives the user a 40% discount on monthly payments.

Feel free to get in touch with us at hello@idealflatmate.co.uk if you have any questions!
