Area Guide to Angel

One of London’s trendiest neighbourhoods, Angel is definitely up there as one of the best places to live. Not only because the location is amazing, there’s also loads of brilliant restaurants and bars, and plenty of shopping. Basically, there’s something for everyone. And whilst it’s close to the hustle and bustle of the city, it stands strong with it’s own creativity, and identity (Angel we love you!). Take Camden Passage for example, full of vintage and antique shops and independent coffee shops, almost taking you back in time and Upper Street and Exmouth Market offering plenty to do (and eat).

To sum up Angel, you’re spoilt for choice and you’ll never want to leave. Just prepare for the rent prices…

Coffee

If you’re looking for a spot to catch up with friends for an afternoon, or just a peaceful one tackling those emails, then The Coffee Works Project is just the place. You’ll not only feel trendy relaxing on their sofas and tucking into their sandwiches and cakes, but it’s a guaranteed coffee fixer.
Also try Saint Espresso and Kobo for a caffeine pit stop.

Brunch

Step 1 to being hipster: Brunch at Brother Marcus. They have vegans and veggies at the front of their minds, with delicious dishes, but also think about the carnivores too – So set your alarm on the weekend, and make brunch about here.
Also try Caravan for the ultimate hangover cure.

Dinner

Both a deli and a restaurant that holds a Michelin star, Ottolenghi is the place you’ll keep going back. They serve delicious food in a communal style setting, and are just an incredible place. Basically, Ottolenghi know how to breakfast, lunch AND dinner.
Also try Mem & Laz for amazing Mediterranean flavours.

Pub

A Georgian gem in Islington, The Albion is the perfect location to relax and forget the stresses of modern life. They offer all the things you want from a pub, and have the most beautiful beer garden, so when it’s nice, eat your Sunday roast outside. With your pals too, because it’s the place to be.
Also try Earl of Essex for a traditional boozer.

Drinks

Laid back vibes, creative menus and a team who just want you to have a great evening – that’s what John Salt is all about. And on the weekend you’ll find boardgames – so basically, tuck into burgers and get yourself merry. What weekend dreams are made of.
Also try award-winning cocktail bar 69 Colebrook Row.

Walk

There’s so many places to wander in Angel. Take Camden Passage, which is famous for it’s vintage shops and antique markets and where you’ll also find cute coffee shops for a pit stop. There’s also Upper Street, lined with independent boutiques and not far is Exmouth market, full of food stalls, delicious restaurants and cute shops too. But even if you don’t fancy eating, drinking or shopping, just pottering around the beautiful streets of Angel, house-spotting is a perfect little afternoon plan.
