Ultimate Guide to September in London

Summer has been amazing, and while there’s still time to enjoy the last of it, we can’t help but feel a little excited knowing that we can pop on our cosiest knits and turn the heating back on. The autumn months soon roll into Christmas, but September in London is still brimming with stuff to do, both inside and out.

So whether you’re into art, design, fashion or just finding any excuse to celebrate and make the most of that evening sun, then we’ve got just the plans for you.

London Brunch Fest

(1 – 2 September)

A festival dedicated to one of our favourite pastimes? Yes you heard it right – London Brunch Fest are throwing the biggest celebration that brunch London has ever seen. Coffee, booze, workshops, talks, music and of course brunch. So call your pals, and make your weekend plans all about brunch. Because, what else?

Totally Thames Festival

(1 – 30 September)

The annual celebration of the River Thames is back – and we’re pretty sure that it’s even better this year. Bringing the river to life, it’s full on celebrations for a month of art, culture and creativity, and a chance to watch the oldest boat race. Here’s to a month long party down by the river.

The Luna Cinema

(1 – 7 October)

Don’t pack away those picnic baskets just yet, because The Luna Cinema are holding onto that summer feeling a little bit longer. Being the country’s leading producers of open air cinema events, they really know their thing about film and the outdoors. And there’s some absolute classics such as Pretty Woman and The Breakfast Club, alongside new musicals (you know THAT one!) for everyone. So grab your blankets and snuggle on down under the night sky for a fun movie month.

BBC Proms In The Park

(8 September)

Because we just can’t get enough of open-air concerts, and this one features a whole host of musical stars. Even if an Orchestra might not be your typical choice of music, it’s still definitely one worth watching (or listening too). Plus, there’s a mass singalong with forty thousand voices – that’s pretty spectacular right?

On Blackheath

(8 – 9 September)

We’re still embracing festival season here in London, and On Blackheath continues those celebrations. It’s known as the perfect festival for unwinding and putting a smiling on your face: showcasing the best in local and international artists. It’s also family-friendly, so invite all of the clan – and yes, there’s plenty of food. So everyone’s happy.

London Fashion Week

(14 – 18 September)

A key date in all fashion-lovers diaries. We’re not just talking about the actual shows, but there’s also pop-ups, shopping events, beauty events and talks. And London as a whole gets completely in on the action with a buzzing atmosphere throughout. Basically, don your most fabulous outfit, and prepare to be papped.

London Design Festival

(15 – 23 September)

If you know London, you know that it’s full of design. London Design Festival is back again, celebrating the creativity and design stories through an array of designers all across the world. Expect lots of design and craft at its absolute best.

Pull out those snuggly knits, things are about to get Autumnal.
