Meet The Team: Max

It’s all well and good knowing a brand as a brand, but do you know who you’re even talking to behind the screen? Well, here at ideal flatmate, we’ve got a pretty cool bunch of folk, if we do say so ourselves. So much so, that we think they need a little bit of raving about – you know, a whole blog post dedicated to them.

We slipped into their emails (we know DMs sound much better, but we’re not great fibbers) and asked some questions for you to know a little more about them.

Just don’t pick a favourite OK?

Meet the team: Max

World meet Max. Max is not only our Marketing Exec, but he’s also the joker of the group and goes by the name of Kav (short for Kavanagh, it’s his surname). At ideal flatmate, he’s your customer service and sales guy rolled into one, constantly checking (in the nicest way possible of course) to see if everyone is satisfied with the service once they’ve joined us. You’ll also find Kav organising events and brand partnerships, which are pretty cool – so if you pop along to the next one, you’ll get to meet the chap IRL. Dream huh?

Introduce yourself in a sentence

Hello, i’m known by most as Kav (short for Kavanagh), I live in the lovely area of Camberwell, where I enjoy the local bars and pubs, but remain active by cycling.

Tell us about your background

I’ve grown up all over the place, from London to Manchester and for the most part, a small, picturesque place in the West Midlands called Malvern. Throughout my life so far, i’ve enjoyed taking up sports where I can, with a particular interest in football and skiing (on a leisurely basis). Whilst studying for a History degree at Swansea University, my summers were made up of travelling around the UK building glamping sites at various festivals. Which brings me to my last point, music is a big passion of mine and I LOVE a good gig or night out!

When you’re not at ideal flatmate, what’s your favourite thing to do?

I’ve recently moved to London , so scouting out new spots I guess.

Which is your favourite area in London?

Ilford

Where do you enjoy eating and drinking in the city?

The only spot for me is Bungalows Cafe in Hackney. It’s all you could want from a ‘greasy spoon’ and the Chicken Escalope sandwich has to be tried… there’s a reason it’s the busiest place along Mare Street.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Italy, but in the North.

Quick fire round

Early riser or night owl? Early Riser
House party or dinner date? Dinner date that turns into a house party
Coffee in or coffee out? Coffee in, I don’t like to waste money on liquid, unless it’s the fizzy amber kind.
Cooking or takeaway? Takeway
Music or TV? Music
Laundry or dishes? Laundry
