People tell me I'm mature and responsible, which I can't quite believe, but I do have a nagging conscience which means I tend to do my chores on time.

I'm a professional jazz pianist. This is a double-edged sword: if you like having music around the house then quid's in, but I do need to play scales – even at weekends! – and they've been known to drive many a housemate bonkers. Obviously we can compromise on this; if you've got a 9-5 job then that's ideal, as I can get most of my practice out of the way in the daytime. I can't stress how important it is that we make this work – overlook it and the resentment grows like knotweed.

I'd like to form a genuine bond with some people. Makes all the difference to come home to a friendly house, rather than just a coldly tolerant one.

Mixed gender flat would be lovely.
