Meet The Team: Alex

It’s all well and good knowing a brand as a brand, but do you know who you’re even talking to behind the screen? Well, here at ideal flatmate, we’ve got a pretty cool bunch of folk, if we do say so ourselves. So much so, that we think they need a little bit of raving about – you know, a whole blog post dedicated to them.

We slipped into their emails (we know DMs sound much better, but we’re not great fibbers) and asked some questions for you to know a little more about them.

Just don’t pick a favourite OK?

Meet The Team: Alex

If you haven’t heard of or spoken to Alex at ideal flatmate, then you’ve basically been living under a rock. Alex is not only our Social Media guy, but he also heads up the team of our Online Brand Ambassadors across the country, and we sure have a lot of love for Alex here – who’s been with us for over a year, starting when it was just Tom and Rob! You’ll most likely find Alex chuckling to himself over a meme he’s found online, causing a stir on Reddit or working his way around the Facebook groups – it’s fair to say that he takes his social role very seriously!

Introduce yourself in a sentence

Video games player, Japanese jiu jitsu learner, football goalkeeper and Netflix binger.

Tell us about your background?

I grew up in Bordeaux, France. After a year of being in the French military police, I decided to go to Uni in London to study Business and Spanish. After graduating I started working into sales, and I realised I loved the digital marketing side of today’s Business orientations. I was super lucky to join ideal flatmate who took a chance on me despite not having all the required experience!

When you’re not at ideal flatmate, what’s your favourite thing to do?

Go out for food & drinks with my girlfriend Amy and friends. But most of the time I’ll just be watching funny shows like Rick and Morty.

Which is your favourite area in London?

Tough one, I haven’t explored that much of London yet, I really should get out more… I’d have to go for Hackney or Shoreditch because they have a great entrepreneurial culture and a strong community feel.

Where do you enjoy eating and drinking in the city?

Pizza at Franco Manca, Rosa’s Thai Kitchen, and the Sail Loft in Greenwich for food. Netil360 and Mare Street Market for drinks!

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

In the ideal flatmate office… Or maybe Canada?
